Lumber for the Front and Back Bars
Met with Deutschman Lumber in Sonora yesterday. Happy circumstance, the owner, Bob Deutschman, is a Marine Corps Veteran and was an ECM Avionics tech on A-6s. We both served about the same time and actually serviced some of the same aircraft, though my work was behind the scene fixing the boxes.
Deutschman Lumber will be cutting two 11 foot slabs (2.5 inches thick, similar to the pictures) to be book-matched on the the main bar, along with a 3 foot square slab for the ADA-compliant portion of the bar. We are also getting 640 linear feet of rough-sawn 1×6 to ‘wrap’ the exterior surfaces of the front and back bars. That same wood will be used to build the bar doors for one of our storage rooms. We should have all of the wood within about three weeks.
